Vintage Guestbook Table

Here’s a little something inspired by Beauty and The Beast.. can you tell I’m a Disney (not so) kid just by that sentence?

My love for Beauty and The Beast wasn’t because of the movie though, surprisingly I don’t really like the Disney classics (Finding Nemo made me cry FYI) but I loved it from Disney on Ice. Does anybody remember the time that they came here in KL for a tour in the 90’s? Yeah, I’m not so young anymore *sigh*.

I’ve always wanted to do a single stem of rose under the dome arrangement but I’ve never had the right dome, till now. While I was brainstorming on how to create this look, based on the things I had, we came across the idea of submerging the rose under water in a smaller cylindrical vase underneath the dome. And that’s exactly what we did! The rose was secured to a stone, and other stones were placed around it to keep the rose centered.

You might wonder how we secured the rose to the stone.. Since we didn’t need it to last for a very long time, the rose was secured onto the stone with tape. Yup, you read that right.. we used tape. If you need the Rose to last a whole lot longer in suspension, my recommendation is to use a fishing line to tie the rose to the stone. The fishing line trick is good when doing a submersed floral arrangement since the line won’t look too obvious in the water.

That’s the only piece of tip I can think of for this setup that was just every so slightly complicated. The rest of it is relatively simple, just watch the GIF to see how simple it was!
